Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) is a program that is funded by the federal payroll tax. This is the kind of benefit you get when you have worked for a few years and have paid your FICA taxes, but due to a disability you can no longer do so.
Generally, under the Social Security rules, you become disabled (and eligible for benefits) if an injury or a medical condition is going to keep you away from working for at least 12 months (or result in death in some cases).
The qualifications and requirements for this type of benefit can be difficult to determine for a lay person. That is why it is best to contact our firm and together we will gather the information necessary for a complete initial application and sort out any confusing issues that may arise.
